CORMS
Fundamentals
The value of CORMS comes from the fact that it allows early identification of fault conditions from
the collected data. Therefore, the less time that is spent collecting and analysing this data
the better.
At its foundation is the permanent deployment of monitoring systems to assess the condition
of equipment by external measurement so that properly informed decisions can be made
about when and where maintenance work is required.
The advantages of the CORMS approach for property maintenance are many, but the main
criteria required to facilitate the use of CORMS for any site are:
- Bespoke information system;
- Existing BMS;
- Condition based monitoring of rotating plant;
- Energy monitoring;
- Revised maintenance strategy.
CORMS News
See CORMS at Nemex 1-3 May 2007
Soaring energy costs and security of supply issues mean that the environmental and commercial need for energy efficiency has never been greater. PBE Systems will be demonstrating the new energy management and reporting features of Process InSight as part of the CORMS brand. Come and see us on the BEIA stand E73.
PDA access for engineers
Field engineers can access essential information for a site through a standard PDA. Decisions can be made without having to travel to the site, allowing the correct personnel and parts to be sent to carry out a task.
Automated Helpdesk
The CORMS automated helpdesk takes care of forwarding any site alarms to managers and engineers as required. An audit trail of alarms is provided through a secure web interface.
